Graduation 2006!

Graduation was last Thrusday! I'm now officially a BSN, bachelor of science in nursing, and we had quite a fun night! My old roommates, Lauren and Valerie, had their families in town and we all got together, along with my family, at the Bayley's house for a graduation celebration! Mrs. Bayley graciously offered to throw us a party and it turned out fantastic! Chad and Jennifer, Daniel's cousins, and my cousin Joe, also made cameos as well. The desserts, the champagne, and the company were all fantastic. Joe decided to stay with us until Saturday, and we had a great time hanging out with him and catching up.

Sunday Daniel and I went up to Andi and Greg's house to celebrate my neice, Dellaina's, 1st birthday! Andi came up with a really creative idea to make a time capsule for Dellaina to open in 15 years on her Sweet 16th Birthday. Several people brought letters, pictures, notes, etc to put in the time capsule. We brought our new video camera and recorded the events of the party, as well as some personal interviews with family members wishing Dellaina a happy birthday. Our gift was to include the tape of video accounts and interviews for her to watch when she opens it on her 16th birthday. I hope the technology isn't so advanced in 15 years that she won't even be able to view it on the CD! Who knows!? But the party was a blast and I think everyone had a great time watching Dellaina open her gifts and play with the tissue paper. :) She was all dolled up in her "Birthday Girl" dress and looked adorable. It was rather amusing, however, because her dress was pretty long so she couldn't crawl around easily because her knees kept stepping on the dress and she'd get tangled up in herself until she'd fall forward. Finally Andi had to tuck the front of her dress into her bloomers so she could crawl around. It was adorable. Also, the cake was delicious. It was made by the same lady that made our wedding cake if that tells you anything! Of course, watching Dellaina smear it on her hands and face was even more entertaining! She had a great time.

It's been a great week of celebrations and after the party, Daniel and I went to his folks house and enjoyed some delicious Jambalaya his mother made. That in and of itself was worth celebrating, as well! We're getting geared up for Christmas and we're looking forward to even more celebrating with friends and family in the coming weeks. We hope you all enjoy your holidays, too.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, from the Bayley's!
