Baby Shower!!

Andi and Mrs. B threw me an incredible Baby Shower! I had an amazing time and got a lot of really great things for Samuel and the nursery!
I've been waiting to post about it because I forgot my camera that morning and have been at the mercy of my friends and family to send me their pictures. I turned 35 weeks pregnant on the day of the shower, so the pics are about 1 week before the last belly shots below. I should be getting more pictures from friends soon, so check back for an update after this weekend. :)

The shower was held at Daniel's parent's home, which looked so beautiful and all decked out in blue baby decor. Mr. Castro, my Tae Kwon Do instructor from Athens, is also an incredibly talented chef, and came up to Atlanta to cater the event as their gift to me! He had quite an assortment of delicious breakfast foods - fruit salad, cheese grits, sausages, chicken penne pasta, rolls...it was all so good! He also set up an omlet station and waffle station in the kitchen and took orders for individuals. It was a really impressive set-up and a delicious array. He had also made an incredible cheese cake, which most of you know is my FAVORITE dessert. I was in hog heaven...
After eating, Andi gathered everyone into the living room (though we spilled over into the foyer and den as well, with all the people who came) and had several fun games put together for us. She knows that I love playing games, and it was great getting to laugh and hang out with everyone who was able to make it.

After a little while I started opening gifts and was totally overwhelmed by the sheer number of presents and the generosity of everyone! We meant to get a picture of all the gift bags and boxes stacked up in the foyer, because it was really impressive! but we forgot and I started opening them. There were some frome people who weren't able to be there too, so it turned out being a massive amount of presents!
Our nursery is still in disarray because there's so much in it, I haven't had the motivation to get in and really organize it all yet. I've made small attempts and it definitely looks better than it did - there are actually clothes in the drawers and the co-sleeper/basinet and awesome papasan swing are assembled, which is a big step! :) I'm waiting for that "nesting instinct" to kick in soon...

It was great getting to catch up with everyone at the shower, especially people who I haven't seen in a while. Angel, my closest friend from UGA, now lives in Texas with her husband David, but flew in for the week and got to hang out with us that night at dinner, too. Also, Evelyn, my cousin, lives in North Carolina, and drove all the way down just for the shower. She stayed with Daniel and I that night at the house and drove back the next morning, but it was so wonderful getting to see her again.

I appreciate everyone who was able to make it, and I love all my gifts! Thanks for making my shower so wonderful, and for making me feel so loved and special! :)
