We have had a wonderful summer!
Back in July, we joined Andi, Dellaina, and Wyatt on another fun adventure to the zoo. The new Tiger exhibit had just opened and we got some up-close-and-personal shots of the alpha male.
He waded through the little pool and came to lay down right in front of the glass where the kids were standing.
After he had cooled off a bit in the water, he started pacing back and forth in front of us! It was pretty intimidating, but his coloring and stature were so beautiful!
It was a very hot day, but the kids had a lot of fun in the naked mole rates exhibit where they get to climb through the tunnels like the mole rats.
That was the first day I can remember that Samuel stayed dry in his pull-up all day and actually peed in the public restroom with me! Of course the intense heat and likely dehydration probably helped that some…
And Samuel got to see is favorite, the Rhinoceros.
Like I said, it was really hot that day…I think we went through at least 3 huge cups of water/pink lemonade that morning. But we all managed to have a good time and escape before everything broke down. :) They were all pretty zoned-out on the ride home.
We’ve also had a good summer of swimming. Dellaina has really become a fish in the water and Wyatt is not far behind her. Samuel is just discovering that he likes to float on his own where his feet don’t touch, but sometimes he gets scared and whines for you to hold him up, and sometimes he whines and says “let go of me!” so that he can float and kick by himself…hopefully this phase will not last long.
I think Samuel was growling in this one? …not sure what that face is about. :)
Best Buds
And then of course, he went through a bad-hair-cut phase, thanks to Mama wanting to save a few bucks. Oh well…
At least it’s growing out now.
