Our Child is so Advanced...

After changing Samuel's diaper the other day, he was a little fussy so I decided to lay him on a blanket on the carpet for some "tummy time." I stepped into the powder room to wash my hands and could hear him start to really wind it up and get fussy. So I hurried to dry my hands and come back out to the living room only to find him sprawled out on his back! He had flipped himself over from belly to back in that short amount of time! I'm so glad I hadn't laid him on the couch!!

I was so surprised and decided it must have been a freak occurrence! He must have just thrown his big noggin to one side hard enough to get the rest of his body over. But I laid him back on his belly just to see. I got down on the floor with him so he could see my face when he lifted up his head and within 30 seconds, he had flipped himself back over again! I was squealing at this point, of course. I knew that rolling over was something that wasn't supposed to happen for a while, but I didn't realize until I looked it up that they're supposed to be 4-5 months old before they master that skill!

I ran out to the garage where Daniel was cleaning up and made him come inside to watch. We laid Samuel back down and he flipped himself onto his back again, almost like he was getting used to it and knew what we wanted to see!! Last night we finally got out the camera to video tape it because we know everyone is skeptical, thinking we propped him up slightly or maybe it wasn't a really flat surface... Daniel took several small videos and Marble was having a fun time darting around with Samuel down on her level. In the first video, it makes it look like he only gets halfway, but it's just because his head stays on the side. If you notice his hips and legs are all the way over. The second one is a little better. He doesn't really "like" rolling over and I think it scares him a little when his scenery changes so quickly so he cries, but he's gotten really good at it!

And of course, I had to try to take some pictures on Saturday of Samuel in his UGA outfit during the game. He looked so cute, but was definitely not in the mood to be put down or to have his picture taken! Daniel's parents came over after half time to watch the end of the game, so I got a couple of shots when he was calmed down a little bit.
Such a stinker...

Wow! I am so amazed. And I definitely needed the videographic proof! But, you can stop torturing him now, poor thing, we get it! ;) Love the cute Georgia outfit and that he konked out in Grandpa's (?) arms.
