Over the last couple weeks Samuel has had several visitors come to see him and he's taken a few trips of his own. A week ago on Friday, we all went down to have dinner with Lauren and Valerie at their apartment.

They cooked a delicious meal, and we had fun catching up and passing Samuel around. He slept most of the time and behaved himself pretty well for them. :)
Mammie and Grandaddy came up from the lakehouse that night and stayed for the weekend to help out. Saturday morning, we all met up with Andi, Greg, Dellaina, and Wyatt for breakfast at IHOP to celebrate dad's birthday which was on the 18th. Afterward, Andi and Dellaina joined mom and I at the hair salon - it had been several months since I had mine done -

and Dellaina had fun going from chair to chair watching us all. Andi wanted her to have the experience of watching people get their hair cut and getting used to the idea, so that when they're actually ready for her to get her first one, she'll be excited about it and not nervous about sitting in the chair and not knowing what's going on. I thought it was a great idea. All the boys went back to our house for some guy time...
Daniel and Trevor, one of our friends from small group, went up to north Georgia for a camping trip Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon, so mom and dad stayed with Samuel and I at the house, for which I was very grateful.

Last week, Andrew and Katie also came by the house and Samuel was flashing some smiles their way, but of course I couldn't capture any with the camera that day. Samuel had kept me up most of the night before so I had been trying to take a nap or a shower and he hadn't been very cooperative with either idea! So, when they arrived, they were very gracious to watch Samuel for me while I took a shower and got out of my pj's. Katie's loving her new job at the school right up the street from our house, and they seem to be doing very well and having a ball with married life.
This past weekend, my cousin Joe and his girlfriend Melanie came up from the Savannah area and stayed with us.

Samuel was smiling a lot for Melanie, but of course again, I couldn't capture any of them. Friday night, we played cards and stayed up late, and Saturday, Joe and Melanie got up early to spend most of the day at Six Flags. Daniel and I had planned to spend the day at the house, relaxing, but were invited to join his dad and family friends at the Georgia Tech vs. MS State game downtown. Daniel's mom offered to keep Samuel for us and though I was hesitant to go at first, we decided it would be a fun outing. Daniel's parents both graduated from MS State, but of course, I had to represent Tech for my family, wearing my yellow top. Emily even gave Samuel a bath for me while we were out. She said he had a great time and Pixel their cat was very interested in the whole bathing process, watching them intently... :) At the game, I actually ran into my cousins David, Lauren, and Carmela, and their parents! They were actually sitting in our same section!

That night, Daniel and I had made plans with Joe and Melanie to go to the Braves game, but Daniel decided he wanted to stay home with Samuel, get some work done at his parents' house, and Andrew and Katie made plans to come up and watch the UGA vs. Arizona State game which started just an hour after the Braves game. I met up with Joe and Melanie at the stadium and we had GREAT seats! We were right behind home plate on the lower level, up underneath the overhang. Melanie took this picture of us with her cell phone. We won the game, too, which is always a plus. Afterward, I came back over to Daniel folks' house and watched the end of the UGA game with his family while Joe and Melanie went home and crashed.
Now for some totally gratuitous pictures of Samuel... :)

Sleeping in his carrier after a walk.

I swear he was happy just before I took this picture! (Also, this was right after my new hair cut :)

Samuel and Marble hanging out with Daniel on the couch.

Samuel smiling at Daniel!

He did it for several minutes in a row in response to Daniel talking and cooing at him.

Such a wide-eyed cutie!
