At the end of August, Daniel and two other members of our small group, Marcy and Vince, were baptized at Buckhead Church. It was a pretty big step because they have to get up in front of about 3,000 people in the auditorium/sanctuary and they play a recoding of their testimony. For Daniel, this was more of an act of obedience to God because he had been baptized as a child, been through confirmation, but just hadn’t been baptized as a believing adult (one of the requirements of membership at our church). His story was very touching though, and it meant a lot for him to get up there with the Marcy and Vince, too. I couldn’t get very many good pictures because we were sitting right below the elevated baptism tank (a hot tub that juts out of the wall on the second floor where the whole congregation can see, kinda cool) so that we could be sure they would hear our cheers, cat calls, and toy horns (believe it or not). I tried to get a couple of pictures of their testimonies being played on the big screens, too, but it was really dark and just made them look like floating heads. They did a really great job, though, and I’m proud of all of them!
Some of the very large cheering squad!

Vince’s turn:
Now Marcy:
You can see why it was hard getting pictures, they were right above us almost!
Afterward, they changed clothes and came down to join us for the rest of the sermon. This is us celebrating in the aisles after church was over.
Patty and Bill had gone down to Wamba Land (our church nursery) to get Anna before we could snag them for a whole ‘small group’ picture, but this is the 3 “baptized” and families.
Marcy, Ridge, Chris, Amber, Vince, Olivia, Samuel, Daniel, and me.

This was a really wonderful occasion, and a chance for all of us to celebrate our faith! Great, Daniel, and an honor to be with you!
